How long does this course take to complete?
Typically, this course takes about 8-12 hours to complete. We recommend that learners complete one module per week.
What does each module include?
Each module includes a sequenced, scaffolded set of activities such as videos, articles, handouts, reflections and direct application practice.
What kind of instructor support will I receive?
Instructors will reply to your posts within the course and to messages you send them directly through this learning portal. If you are participating in a hybrid version of this course, you will enjoy video conferences with the instructors also.
Will I earn a certificate of completion?
Yes. Learners who successfully complete each activity will download a certificate of completion of hours at the end of this course.
Meet the instructors
Belinda Passafaro
Belinda weaves together her bi-cultural identity, her passion for social justice and equity, and her extensive experience in nonprofit and education leadership to design and facilitate professional learning opportunities that are diverse, inclusive, and meaningful for all partners. As a senior consultant, Belinda is experienced in designing, managing and implementing high quality initiatives that support organizational development strategies and promote positive student outcomes.
Shannon Lake
Shannon specializes in partnerships and collaborations to create enriching learning opportunities that address the needs of youth and adult learners. For over 20 years, she has worked in schools, libraries, and nonprofits designing curricula and programs that connect people to opportunities that reflect their passions. She also coaches and leads workshops to help others do the same. Shannon is a lifelong learner who has a passion for travel. Her global travels aid her in bringing a unique perspective to projects where she innately embeds equity and inclusion.
Jen Brevoort
If you’ve worked with Jen, chances are you’ve slept in a submarine, designed air powered cars, expressed yourself with a little snow painting, or gotten lost in a scavenger hunt. Jen creates and expands experiential learning environments for learners. She uses creative curriculum, and current technology to push the limits of traditional education. She has designed and delivered professional development trainings for educators and administrators in 38 states and four continents. Jen's passion is keeping joy and curiosity in learning spaces by prioritizing play.
